[He hasn't spoken with Luke since their encounter in the hotel, but when he looks at the list of Fluid users, he's still on there. He feels the boy should hear this from Maul rather than anyone else, since word of this is going to spread very quickly given Maul's reputation. When he answers, Maul looks a bit weary and resigned. You'd think this would have gotten easier to tell after already doing it three times but it really hasn't]
[He answers, in video as well, a surprised look on his face as he sees who Darkness is. What a fitting user name. He does smile, faintly at the being.]
I'm not sure if you knew but your father has arrived in town.
[At least it would be easier to tell Luke this. He was fully aware of his father's shortcomings and what had led him to the Dark Side.]
He was full of fear and anger, brandishing his lightsaber and demanding a way to leave. We got into a duel and he lost. I killed him.
[He says this all very plainly and with little emotion, just giving the facts of the matter. Maul felt neither happy about Anakin's slaying but neither did he feel bad about what he had done.]
[There is disappointment on his face as he hears Maul talk. He does not blame Maul though. he does understand that Anakin could hold a temper and a fight. He raised a hand to the bridge of his nose to pinch it though.]
Alright. How long does it normally take for a person to return? When they die here. I have heard there are consequences to death that are not like the normal.
[Anger, judgment, and grief he could all stand. But this quiet disappointment is somehow worse. Maul shifts uncomfortably for a moment before going on, wondering why he cares about what the young Jedi thinks of him so much. Perhaps it is because he is the first person from Maul's world not to judge him or care about his past dark deeds, a rarity he's found even with his friends here in town.]
One week. He will be very ill with something called the Death Flu and likely bedridden for the entire time he has it. Sometimes it lasts a week, sometimes a month. And there will be a ghost of his death that will replay endlessly in the spot where I killed him.
[This was why he'd grown immensely fond of Luke in the short time he'd been here. He reminded Maul of the way the Jedi should be, rather like Obi-Wan did, but without the blinding hatred and years of history that lay between him and Kenobi.]
One can hope.
[Or maybe he'll just spend the entire time focusing on how to get revenge on Maul. Revenge wasn't the usual Jedi way, but Anakin hardly seemed to be the typical Jedi at all.]
Be careful. The ghost will attack you if you get too close to it. I forgot to tell Obi-Wan that and I know he's going to do the same thing.
